Senior bridge officers and captains from Royal Caribbean have completed ABB Azipod® XO propulsion training at Aboa Mare, using our cutting-edge ship simulator bridge, built in 2024 to support the Icon-class fleet, including Icon of the Seas and the upcoming Star of the Seas.
The simulator bridge is equipped with Wärtsilä Platinum navigation systems and an ABB AX-Azipod® propulsion control system, identical to the onboard setups of Royal Caribbean’s newest vessels. Using our highly realistic simulator model of Icon of the Seas, participants practised ship handling, manoeuvring, and performance operations in custom-designed port environments.
